This week I had to watch a Ted Talk about World War II for my US History class. This Ted Talk was given by a Japanese American that when he was younger was forcibly put into a internment camp. He highlighted how his age made him naive to everything that was happening and how he still loved the US. He explained how awful the camps were but also how poorly he was treated just because he was Japanese. This Ted Talk gave me mixed feelings because I was upset with how the US treated him, but he also explained why he still was proud to be an American. There was no right reason to be treating Japanese Americans like that when they did nothing wrong. America makes lots of mistakes and often time people are mistreated for things out of their control. Hopefully as times goes on this stops happening and everyone is treated equally.
