Are GMOs actually harmful to the human body?
In recent years there’s been much debate over whether genetically modified organisms (GMO) in our food is dangerous to consume. With new technology everyday, we are finding easier ways to produce food. One of the ways that we have begun to produce food is through modifying their genes, either to produce food faster or for pest resistance. Many are worried that these GMOs are toxic to humans or will affect their offspring (kids). In a report written by Harvard, they looked at multiple studies done to discover the effect of GMOs. After examining all of the studies they concluded that there was no difference between a rat that was fed only food with GMOs vs a rat fed no GMOs, therefore “GMOs have been found to exhibit no toxicity, in one generation or across many”. Although there have been lots of concerns surrounding GMOs, from looking at all the research, experts have concluded there’s no evidence of GMOs harming humans.
